Hi friends,
I’m popping into your inbox today to share some HUGELY exciting news… The Missing Half has been out in the world for three whole weeks and it is officially a New York Times bestseller!

To celebrate its release, Kyle and I, along with my sister and her partner, took a last-minute jaunt to New York City, where a Spotify billboard was advertising the book. We happened to drive right past it on our cab ride from the airport to our hotel and I’d be blown away if we didn’t set a record for how loud four people can scream (apologies to our cab driver). Truly, seeing my name up there in bold was surreal in all the best ways, and it meant so much to me to be able to celebrate it with my best hype people.
We were only in the city for three nights, but we made the most of our short trip. We went to Broadway, the Met, saw all our NY/NJ cousins, and, after not seeing each other IRL for over five years, I got to catch up with my agent in person.
Thank you to everyone who has bought, read, reviewed, or recommended our book! I’ve been absolutely blown away by the amount of love and support I’ve received from readers. It’s because of all of you that I get to do my dream job. And if you’ve already finished The Missing Half and want a little more, Ashley and I penned an EXCLUSIVE epilogue available only at Target.
Meanwhile... I’ve been racing to finish edits on the second draft of my next book—a campus thriller with a con artist angle—and I finally sent it off to my agent and a handful of trusted readers this morning. It has the most complex plot I’ve ever written, which has made the editing process equally tangled and painstaking, but I am SO excited for this one. It has suspense, drama, social commentary, a bit of romance, and of course, plenty of twists.
As I wait for this next round of feedback, I’m thrilled to be heading out on a two-week river cruise with my dad and sister! We’re starting in Budapest and winding our way up the Danube through Hungary, Austria, Germany, and the Netherlands, ending in Amsterdam. After all the work I’ve put into my latest draft, my craving for a vacation is bone-deep. This weekend I’ll be curating a stack of books to bring, coordinating my outfits, and crossing my fingers my new travel pillow is as good as its marketing campaign.
xo,
Alex
